Hi I'm Giovanni Criscione

I am a husband, a father, a genealogist, a ping pong and tennis player, a good friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Ragusa, Sicily, Italy. I am the oldest of 3 children and have great parents and other family members that have always been a wonderful support to me. Since I was young I have loved to travel, to meet with different cultures, to taste their culinary specialties and to listen to their different points of view. I just love getting to know people! I love to share my life (and stories with them) and hear about what passions they have! I studied law, diplomacy and International Affairs in Italy and I lived also abroad in New York and Geneva, Swizerland for work, these experiences greatly blessed me! I am an Eagle Scout and worked on many service projects to help the elderly, the community, and other worthy causes. I also love Latin and helped high school students as a private Tutor . I love genealogy, researching and documenting family history and finding out more about our beloved ones. I have researched and found my family starting in1131AD. I have also had the opportunity to help many others in finding out their families! I enjoy ping pong, tennis, opera, classical music, travel, art, and chess. I am married to a wonderful woman and I am a happy dad. I met my wife while working in Turin for the Winter Olympic Games. We married 6 months later. I guess it was love at first sight! We now have 2 wonderful children! We enjoy spending time together travelling and getting to know new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I love honesty and integrity and I see every day that those are among the fundamental pillars of being a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon because I love and support my family, I try to be a better husband and father, a better citizen, and a better example for all the people I meet every day. The principles I learn from the gospel help me to fulfill these roles and give me a guide of how to best accomplish all that I can to be the best me. I love the Book of Mormon and as I have studied it, I have received answers to my prayers. I feel a peace in the sacred words written with in it. Thanks to the Gospel of Jesus Christ I have experienced a wonderful way to live and I have recognized a lot of miracles in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example every day even when it is not the easiest thing. My friends, colleagues at work, and extended family members that are not Mormons respect my beliefs. I am not often shy, I enjoy talking to people and finding some kind of connection between us. I take pleasure in sharing gospel principles and tender mercies from my life with those around me and hope that these things can bring peace into their lives. I know that as I strive to respect the high standards of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and when I really do my best in keeping the commandments and abide by the promptings of the Spirit following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ, life is more bearable and everything seems to go smoother and I find it easier to have a smile on my face. I believe this is a small example to others that I am happy and that this happiness comes from the knowledge of a Loving Father in Heaven with a plan for each of us.
