Hi I'm Cheryl

I'm a retired elementary teacher, a mom, and a grammie and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom... the best job on earth! My husband and I are parents to 6 children, 2 are biologically mine. We have 6 beautiful grandchildren. I am a retired elementary teacher. I love having time to enjoy my family! I love to follow my kids as they participate in different athletic events, as well as Church activities. We have traveled extensively as a family, which we all enjoy! With the extra time I have now, in addition to travelling, I love to crochet, paint, and read.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and have known its teachings are true since I was a child. I am a Mormon or a Latter-Day Saint because I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God lives and that He loves us. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today. Because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches these same things, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I serve as a leader for a group of young women from the ages of 12-18. I love the time I get to spend with them and learn from them. I am amazed at the strength they have to follow Jesus Christ in a world where many teenagers choose not to follow Him. We have spiritual lessons on Sundays, but enjoy other activities during the week. We also get to spend a week in the mountains at Girls Camp each summer. I visit three ladies from our congregation each month to share an uplifting message and enjoy their company. They bless my life by keeping my Spanish language skills intact! We also try to keep our family strong by having family prayer and scripture study daily. Sometimes it isn't easy to do this when we are involved in many other things, but it's a priority in our home.
