Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a Navy Brat, I love my family, I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon

About Me

'Ello! Well I guess I'll start at the beginning, I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. I've since lived all over the world and moved about every two years. I don't think it's any better or worse than getting to grow up in 1 or 2 places, it's just different. I'm the oldest of 5 boys in my family and I'm always looking for the next adventure, I love snowboarding, water sports, climbing and riding motorcycles. I also love swimming and playing guitar, movies and music, nice cars, a good book and awesome friends! I'm just your average everyday "Mormon". Last summer I chose to leave my "home" in Japan and serve the Lord, I was called to spend two years in the California Arcadia Mission sharing my testimony of Jesus Christ and serving in whatever way I can to help others live a better life and come closer to God. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was born into an amazing family that love each other, Heavenly Father and The Savior, they also happen to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So I was raised in it but at some point everyone comes up against their own wall of faith where they need to understand and decide what they believe and how they will live. My testimony came over time as God sent me experiences that helped me to know he was there and that he loves me. I'd say what helped me the most is that I was taught when I was young to pray and that has guided me through life, knowing what Heavenly Father wants for me and expects of me is a huge blessing! However I still needed to know if the things I'd been taught growing up were true so I did what everyone has to, I thought it out I looked at everything, I read the scriptures and then I prayed, a lot. Looking at everything I knew about the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, the Spirit and God, I asked my Heavenly Father for an answer and just like he always has, he answered me, through the quite peaceful feelings of the Holy Spirit. I now know for myself that Heavenly father and Jesus Christ live and love us more than we can even understand and they still speak today just like they always have as long as people are willing to listen.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow Jesus Christ and his commandments and improve everyday and be a better person and Christian in this crazy world we live in. One of my favorite things about the Church is the amount of service it helps us give, when the earthquake hit in northern Japan the local congregations helped a ton with the relief and clean up, we were able to bus down and help haul the debris out and bring food in to the Japanese people who were hit so hard by the tsunami. It was wicked sad having to see all that destruction but at the same time it was awesome to see everyone come together when we needed it most, the military, the Church, the local people, everybody. We're all children of God and at times like that it really shows, all barriers are gone we just help one another deal with the disasters big and small in this life. On a not to crazy level I also had the chance to help teach a Sunday school class of 5 year old's, the other teacher and I would teach simple stories and messages from the scriptures and personal experiences to help them understand the love that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father have for us and that they can talk to God and he will always listen and answer.
