Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student that tries to be well rounded in life. I love the outdoors. I love being active, hiking, camping, biking, are some of my favorite things to do. I also love playing all sorts of sports including Baseball, basketball, golf, and football. I enjoy these activities, but I also enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have experienced the blessings of living the gosple in my life. When I was in high school I wanted to know for myself if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if he actually did have Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ apear to him. I read Joseph Smith's account of the First Vision and prayed to know the truthfulness of the witness. I did not experience any doubt or concern I just felt at peace. I interpreted this as a sign that I could continue living the commandments and developing my faith. The next day after I prayed I was talking to some of my fellow basketball teammates about the church. One of them asked me a question about who Joseph Smith was, and why he was important. Because I had just reviewed this story the day before I was able to give a detailed explaination of who Joseph Smith was. As I shared Joseph's experience I felt the spirit more powerfully than I had ever felt in my life. I knew as I retold this experence that it was true. My heart burned with desire to express that I too knew that this account of the first vision was true. I can now say that I know my Heavenly Father lives, and loves us. I know that Jesus Christ is His son. I know that through Joseph Smith they were able to once again restore their church to the earth. I know that today we have a living prophet who leads the church under the direction of our Savior Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

As a young single adult our church provides many opportunities for me to interact with others in my same age group. I attend a young single adult ward where we can learn and grow in the gosple together with our peers. I am an assistant to the President of our Men's organization. With this responsibility we get to plan activites that will help build unity with all the Men in our ward. We strive to create opportunities for each person to feel connected to the group. I also serve as a hometeacher. This is a program where we visit people in the ward and make sure that their spiritual and physical needs are being met. This creates many opportunites to provide a helping hand, or simply a willing ear to listen to each individuals needs and concerns in life. Living the gosple is a way of life for me, it is who I have become. Service, love, care and concern are attributes that I have developed because of my experience as a member of the Church.
