Hi I'm Brent Smith
Born in Idaho but grew up in California--now living in Utah. I have worked in the construction industry my life. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I have been an business executive in the construction industry mostly in construction materials such as ready-mixed concrete and asphalt. Negotiating numerous mergers and acquisitions of property and companies has been fun part of my career. I am an instructor for the University of Phoenix for over 20 years teaching courses in business management, marketing and strategic planning. I have five children and 12 grandchildren--and I love them all. There is no greater joy than being surrounded by a loving family. I love spending time with my children and grandchildren. I love languages and love to travel and have been to many parts of the world. I served a mission in Argentina where I learned to love Spanish and the people of South America. I am an avid reader of history and find inspiration in learning about the lives of great people and leaders from around the world.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised in a mormon family but have gained a firm belief and testimony on my own and I am grateful for the peace I experience in life due to a better understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. The Church teaches the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helps us to follow Him. I have learned so much from my activity and membership in the church. It is the foundation of my life and has given me much peace and joy. Being a member of the Church and having the contstant nourishment of regular activity by attending and being involved in all the activities is a blessing in my life and in the life of my family.
How I live my faith
I believe the greatest expression of my faith is demonstrated with the service I can give to others espeically those immediately around--my family, neighbors, friends and associates. It is in practicing that we find joy--not just talking about it.
