Hi I'm Richard

I was raised in Southern California. I served a mission for the Mormon Church in South America. Life has been very good for me.

About Me

My wife and I have 10 children and 45 grandchildren. I have been a partner in a pension administration company all my working years. I am now retired. Life has been full and rich for me. I married a wonderful person and have been blessed with a good ancestry and posterity. Because the Mormon Church has very little in the way of paid ministry, we members serve in the administrative and teaching positions of the church. This has kept me busy in good works for over 50 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon. Our family has been in the Church almost since its beginning. I served a mission for the Church in Uruguay, Peru and Chile when I was 20 years old. I gained a spiritual confirmation as to the truthfulness of the Mormon doctrine as I taught it. The teachings not only sounded right, but felt right. Each person who studies the doctrines of the Church with real desire to know if they are true and shows that desire by praying to Heavenly Father and asking him if they are true, will receive an answer as I did in my early years. The Bible tells us that the Light of Christ is given to every person born. This is your innate ability to know if something is right. Truth attracts truth, goodness attracts goodness. All my life I have used that rule in judging whether I should embrace an activity or follow a path. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because it is filled with truth, has been easy for me to accept because its teachings fit this model I was comfortable with.

How I live my faith

Some people say that it must be a big sacrifice to live according to the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but I answer, "it isn't difficult at all.' I believe the doctrines are truth and truth makes you free. Living according to the teaching of Jesus Christ bring blessings that wouldn't otherwise be available. I am grateful especially for the Book of Mormon. This book demonstrates the doctrines of Jesus Christ in a human setting with a prophet standing nearby saying, "and thus we see..." Life becomes efficient and effective, joyful and prosperous. I apply the Church rules for living to every situation I face and live with the assurance that I am doing that which will bring me peace in this world and Eternal Life in the next. That's a win-win life style.
