Hi I'm Dennis

I'm a Mormon because I believe that God the Father knows me and wants me to be happy throughout eternity.

About Me

I am a computer engineer living in Mesa, Arizona. My life has been like a roller coaster ride - sometimes up and sometimes down. Five years ago, lost a son in Iraq and last year lost a 27 year old son to medical treatment errors - those were the downs. The ups have been going to the temple, renewing my covenants to follow God and enjoying almost every day by living the Gospel. I have seen firsthand miracles that have guided my life and the life of others. I believe it's because God makes these things possible. I know the great source of my happiness is to follow the teachings of the LDS church - it sure works for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Thirty years ago I asked God why 40 million people died in WW II - didn't receive an immediate answer but felt in my heart that someone or something had heard that question/prayer! I joined the church several months later and after another year of asking questions and getting answers that just felt right and true - I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and the joy that comes from living the Gospel. The recent loss of my son caused me to again ponder the question of why so many good young people die. I still don't know exactly why but I believe God will make it all right - something wonderful awaits us throughout eternity. Since the beginning of mankind approximately 70 billion persons have lived on Earth and I know that God was the Father and architect of the Spirit and body for each individual. God's work and glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. That expression is chiseled in granite on the back of my son's headstone in Boerne, Texas. I continue to be a member of the LDS church and have now asked hundreds of tough questions and received great answers through the Bible, the Book of Mormon, prayer, pondering, talking to others and sometimes through inspiration and personal revelation from the Holy Spirit. What a joy that has been! I love this church and testify that anyone can attend an LDS church meeting anywhere in the world and have a personal experience that testifies these are eternal truths taught by our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday when I attend church meetings I hear great talks and lessons about living a Gospel centered life. These reminders and the feeling of joy that comes from hearing eternal truths makes me want to be a better person throughout the next week - more patience, more caring for others and of course being a better husband and father. After Sunday, my busy life sometimes gets in the way but over the years I have become a better person and have gained a greater love for my Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ.
