Hi I'm Jonathan

I married my best friend, have 4 fab kids, am a Scot in England, work in the Aviation industry, love cars and love being a Mormon.

About Me

My wonderful wife and four children are the centre of my life and nearly all of my free time is spent with them; usually driving children to one hobby or another - I wouldn't have it any other way. I have also always had a passion for cars, aircraft and technology and so after graduating university, went to work in technology for an airline. After many years working as an employee, I made a change in mid-2013 and formed my own company and now provide contract sales and management services to several technology companies in the aviation and automotive industries - I love it. My work takes me to many wonderful and exciting places around the world, and although I would much prefer to take my family with me on my travels, seeing the world is such a wonderful blessing. I have had the opportunity to watch the fireworks in Hong Kong harbour, visit the Taj Mahal in India, see lions up close in the wild in Kenya, go to the world's tallest building in Dubai, snorkel in the Pacific Ocean, and even watch the midnight sun inside the Arctic Circle. God's creations and the ingenuity of mankind are marvellous. Even though we enjoy living in the beautiful micro-climate of the south coast of England, we also love to travel as a family and try to visit a warm and sunny foreign clime every year, the children especially love the Spanish islands and the USA.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon household with faithful Latter-Day Saint parents; in fact my grandparents were the original converts to the church in the 1950's and 60's. I was taught about Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, throughout my childhood, but it was in my mid-teens that I realised I needed to determine the truth for myself. After reading the scriptures and asking God in prayer to help me know if they were true, I received a clear answer, confirming that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and the things I had read in the Bible and the Book of Mormon were true. Living the gospel is not always easy, but knowing that I am a son God, who loves me and wants to be engaged in my life, gives me strength and brings an incredible sense of peace; knowing that I have the potential to return to live with Him one day gives me motivation to keep trying and to get up when I fall down.

How I live my faith

My faith is integral to all aspects of my life and when we live the gospel of Jesus Christ in our home it always brings peace and harmony - most days begin and end with family prayer, a practice which has, without doubt, brought us closer and helped unite us. We also love to visit the grounds of the temple near London with the children and their growing love of Jesus Christ is wonderful to observe. At the moment I also have the pleasure of working with the young people of the church and am involved in planning and running regular events and activities for the 12-17 year olds from a wide geographical area - they are a fine bunch of people and their strength to stand for what they believe in a world that would often ridicule is indeed an inspiration to me.
