Hi I'm Jenna

I am a 19 year old girl from Nebraska and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I am from Nebraska I moved quite a bit as a child. I was Born in Idaho, but I have lived in Idaho, Utah, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Nebraska. I have spent most of my life in Nebraska though. I am currently attending college in Idaho! I am going into Marriage and Family Therapy. I love people! I am such a people person. I absolutely love helping people and helping solve problems. I am happiest when I am helping someone. I love to sing! In High School I was in a Vocal Jazz group. I loved it! I also like to dance, it is so much fun. I love Ballroom, Swing, Country, and Latin dancing.I am the oldest of 5 kids. I love my family they are great!!! I grew up in the church and I am so grateful to be a member. It is amazing to see the Lords hand in my life. I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon not because I was raised in the church, but because I know it is true. I grew up being taught the teachings of the gospel, but it wasn't until my teenage years I started believing and growing my own testimony. When I was 16 I started reading the Book of Mormon every night on my own. The Book of Mormon is such an AMAZING book. The more I read the closer a get to my Heavenly Father. After I finished reading I prayed to know if it was true. The Lord answered my prayer. I received confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel. This church has given me so much to be grateful for. I really don't know what I would do with out it. This church means everything to me. I love it so much. It is so nice to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for me. He is always there for me. I can call upon my Heavenly Father at anytime, anywhere, and about anything. Now that I no longer live at home I don't have my Dad to help me every time I need help, but I do have my Heavenly Father. The Lord has helped me through trials, through pain, and through times of uncertainty. I am so thankful for all that Jesus Christ did for me. Because he loves us he suffered and died so that we can repent of our sins and return to live with him again someday. I am so grateful for Joseph Smith he truly is a Prophet called of God. I am Mormon not only because I believe it is true, but because I personally KNOW it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to follow my savior Jesus Christ's foot steps. Christ was the perfect example. I am currently attending a church school in Idaho where I am learning every day how to follow the Savior's footsteps. I am growing so much. I have come to realize the importance of daily scripture study, and personal prayer. Back home in Nebraska I came from a very small ward. At times it was hard, because there weren't many active people my age. At times I felt so lonely, but the Lord was there for me and helped through it. I have been blessed in my life as I have strived to live the standards of the church. Even though I am no longer in the youth program, I am still striving to live the standards outlined in the For Strength of Youth pamphlet. I have come to see that there is a reason for those standards. By following the For Strength of Youth I have been blessed and protected in my life. As I live my faith I am able to see the lords hand in my life. He has protected and guided me. I feel so blessed to have this gospel and have the opportunely to learn and grow as I live it.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Jenna
Mormon women are really not much different than your every day woman. The big difference is that Mormon women live by the standards of the church. Growing I was asked many times why I belong to a church that belittles women, that sees men as more important. I have never been treated as if I was of any less worth than a man in this church. The church supports and values women. We see men and women as equals that are best together. Growing up I was taught that I am a special daughter of God. There are so many programs for women in this church. If anything I have felt cherished as a woman in this church. I have been taught that I am special and should be treated with respect. I have heard it said many times to honor women. I feel blessed to be a part of a church, that supports me as a woman as this church does. Show more Show less
