Hi I'm Verlee

I am a wife and mother and I love life!

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of five wonderful children. Recently my first grandchild was born and I think being a grandma is pretty incredible! I enjoy spending time with my family in just about any activity - I just love being with them. We laugh a lot together! I like following high school and college sports, sewing, reading, and being involved in school/community activities. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ bring my family and me joy! I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and is very aware of me and blesses me each day. This gospel brings meaning to my life. Because I love my family with all my heart, my greatest desire is to be with them forever. Through the blessings of the gospel and temples, I know that this is possible. I love being a member of His church!

How I live my faith

I love being involved in the activities that my children participate in. I enjoy volunteering at their schools and with other groups that they belong to. I also have the opportunity to work with the teenage girls in our church. I teach Sunday lessons and participate in weekly activities with them. They teach me much with their enthusiasm for life and their desires to make good choices. I am grateful for the chance to interact with them. Being involved is always better than being a bystander!

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

After being baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, an individual receives a blessing from a priesthood holder and is given the gift of the Holy Ghost. As a member of the Godhead, the Holy Ghost serves as a witness of truth, a voice of warning in times of danger or difficulty, and as a comforter in times of sorrow and challenge.  Having the Holy Ghost in our lives truly is an incredible gift. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Members of the Mormon Church are generally very happy people. Our faith and knowledge of our Heavenly Father's plan brings us great joy. Because we find such joy in living the gospel, we want to share that joy with others. That is why families, mine included, send sons, daughters and grandparents, all over the world to serve as missionaries and to share the message or "good news" of the gospel with others.
