Hi I'm Ivan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate. I graduated with a dual major in finance and accounting. I currently work at a non profit as an accountant. I have a few callings in church but my favorite is being in charge of Ysa activities. I also run a small DJ business on the side that I love. I love playing sports and dancing. I absolutely love music and I'm also working on get new stuff to play as a DJ.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? The biggest blessing in my life was two young missionaries coming to my house and sharing the gospel with my family. My father grow up catholic as most Latinos do. It took the missionaries one month to go through the first discussion with my family because my father had so many questions. That's a month of them coming over everyday and teaching. They even learned how to speak Spanish. After a couple months my family was baptized. I'm so thankful and blessed to have been shared the gospel and to know that I have a loving heavenly father who loves me and a savior who died for my and your sins. I know the Book of Mormon is another true testament of Jesus Christ. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that we have a living prophet today named Thomas S. Monson. I continue to learn and grow in this gospel everyday and read the Book of Mormon so I can continue to be closer to my heavenly father and my savior. As a college student I would see and hear my friends not knowing there purpose in life and basically feeling lost most of the time. I'm grateful to know I'm a son of God and know that I want to return to him.

How I live my faith

When I was in middle school my family became inactive. We moved when I was in high school and the missionaries came over and invited us back to church and seminary. I wasn't to thrilled about seminary but that evening I went to a youth activity with an old friend. I had a great feeling when I was there. That night I went home and said to myself I either go 110 percent or I don't go at all. I don't like to do things half ways. Well I prayed and said well if something feels this good than it can't be bad to keep going. Since than I have gone to church and as many youth and YSA activities as I can. Those weeks I don't go I just don't feel right, like I missed out on something. Some days it's not easy to live the gospel. Going to high school with only 5 other members and college with only 3 members is very hard. You get so much peer pressure to do things that are against heavenly fathers counsel for us. He wants to protect us while the world wants us to join them and do things that can harm us spiritually and physically. I know that even though it is hard to live the gospel everyday, that I know I'm extremely bless because I do live it. I've learned that my friends respect my beliefs because they are friends and see how happy I truly am in the gospel. Reading the scriptures, going to institute and church keeps me strong in the faith. Being part of the church you get great leaders called to serve us and help to support and teach us. I'm thankful for what heavenly father has bless my life with and will continue to follow him because he loves me. If anyone is having trouble living the faith I encourage you to pray for support from heavenly father and he will support and bless you. I pray everyday and thank him for his guidance.
