Hi I'm Matthew

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of five siblings who are all married, and I have five nieces and two nephews.  I love the outdoors, hiking, river rafting, snowmobiling and four-wheeling, and all types of sports, especially football. I have scored superior ratings in regional, state, and national competitions as a pianist, vocal performer, and choir participant. I earned my Eagle Scout Award, served a mission in California, and am currently going to school to become a nurse, and than eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. I have worked as sport athletic assistant, an EMT, and am currently employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant at an Assisted Living Community.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been my greatest blessing. I never have to question who I follow, what my standards are or who I can turn to for help and guidance in life; I follow the Savior, Jesus Christ, and live the truth and doctrine He has spoken through scripture and living prophets and apostles. I have been blessed as I've kept His commandments, served others, and been an example of righteousness, virtue, and kindness. Because I follow Jesus Christ, my life has purpose and I am at peace in knowing it.

How I live my faith

"If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do?"..."Would I say the things I say?". These are lyrics to one of my favorite songs about the Savior and I reflect on them often. As a result, I try to act, behave, and speak with qualities Jesus had: kindness, virtue, patience, and love. As I work in the medical field, I try to care and help people in a way that He would and look at them as a child of God. This gives me greater ability to care for them with dignity and respect. With my musical abilities, I choose to share my faith in Jesus Christ through the songs I sing and play on the piano.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Matthew
The Law of Chasity is a sacred commandment the Lord has revealed that requires a man and a woman to be strictly loyal to their marriage vows, to care for and love each other. The Lord also explains in this commandment of the sacred nature of the powers of procreation and as a result, ANY type of sexual relations are strictly prohibited outside the bond of a legal and lawful marriage of a man and a woman. Those who obey this commandment feel a sense of peace, security, and great joy in the greatest earthly source of joy on the earth- the family. I know for myself, watching my parents and siblings live this law, that there is incredible joy and happiness in this life, and the fullest of it I have seen in a married couple who live the Law of Chastity.
