Hi I'm Tom

I am a Husband, Father, a Sales Manager and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father, husband and friend. I actually work as a consultant in the adult beverage industry so I guess that makes me fairly unique since I am a Mormon! I love anything that can be done outdoors Mtn biking, snowmobiling, hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, golf, racketball indoors the list goes on and on. I like spending time with my family and hanging out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon...Well I suppose it is because I accepted a challenge to read the Book of Mormon and once I did, I knew it was true. So even though it meant some fairly significant lifestyle changes I committed to and was baptized a Mormon. Turns out the lifestyle changes were no big deal after all and I know now that decision 15 years ago was one of the best I ever made, for myself and for my family.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon gives me lots of chances to serve others. There is a real sense of community and it feels great to get out and help other people with friends. Of course there were probably always those opportunities before but now I feel great being able to help other on a regular basis and I recognize how important it really is, it really is what Jesus did and wants us to do. Everyone in the Church has a job calling there are no paid positions, it is a just the members making it happen.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I think the Church grows for many reasons but a couple significant reasons are first, many people are searching for meaning in this existence. Why am I here, where did I come from and where am I going? The Church answered all these questions for me and helped me realize the things that were really important in life. Also, as happened with me once people read the Book of Mormon I believe they recognize it is the word of God. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe we are here on Earth to gain a body, we were spirits before we came here be tested and prepare ourselves for the life after this one when we will have an opportunity to live with our Father in Heaven if we can choose wisely while here. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

It probably sounds funny but I think it is similar to having a really big family. Since members tend to have similar values I always feel comfortable at Church and around members even though we may not be close friends, it feels like home to me. Show more Show less
