Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I have time I enjoy being outside running. The mountains where I live are stunning in all seasons. I love to see the transition from snow covered white to spring green on each run. When I am not running I am either working as an engineering graduate student, helping my parents with my developmentally disabled older sister, or spending time with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life. His example is one that I try to follow each day. I find that as I do so I have more patience and understanding with the people around me and with the challenging circumstances that life sometimes gives us. I also have more patience with myself. My appreciation for my loved ones and for the beauty of life grows. None of this would happen as a result of my own efforts. I know it is through Christ and his sacrifice for us. I have learned and applied his sacrifice through scriptures and prophets both ancient and modern. I still have a great deal to learn about Christ and his sacrifice. For this reason I have continued during my life being a member of the church and always will.

How I live my faith

I visit eight members of my congregation each month. We talk about how are lives are going in general and if they need help with small home repair jobs I offer my assistance, that is if I am actually able to fix what is broken! I am not very handy. In the past few months I have been responsible to plan activities that help members get to know each other. The activities don't always go as planned but it has been a rewarding experience.
