Hi I'm David W. Patterson II (Bubba)

I grew up in Liberty, Mississippi. I am a police officer for the state of Mississippi. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was raised in this Church and have always found peace from the message it brings. I love to work hard and be honest with all people. I enjoy serving the Lord by helping other people and doing things for His church. I have served a mission for the church in the Mexico, Mexico City South mission as well as a little time in the Utah, Salt Lake City South mission. I can speak Spanish because of my service and have learned many plain and precious truths that help me to enjoy life to the fullest. I have been married and sealed in the Temple of the Lord for time and all eternity. I love my wife with all my heart has to offer. Knowing that I will be with her forever is a blessing. I am now pursuing an education and striving to prepare "every needful thing" for my family. I love my Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I have a firm testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church. I love the good feelings I get when I serve the Lord in his Church and help to "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man".

Why I am a Mormon

I made the decision to become a Mormon at eight years of age. Being raised in the church I already had a good understanding of the gospel and what it meant to me. I prayed to know if this was the right thing to do and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. I knew it was what my Heavenly Father wanted for me. Life for me has been nothing but a constant progression towards heaven since that day. I truly do have a closer relationship with my Savior now because of this Gospel. I Love the Lord! I Love His Church! I Love the Peace it brings to me! This Gospel is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me! It's because of this church that I have received all the blessings I have today. These are some of the many reasons that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by always trying to be an example to those around me. Living in the south there aren't many members of the LDS church. Most people are Christians which help a lot with our belief in God. I love to read in the scriptures because it helps me become the better example that I strive to be. When those who are not of my faith see me, I want their impression to be a good one. I want them to see the greatness the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life everyday. Just to wake up everyday knowing why I'm here and where I want to go is heart warming and peaceful. I do my best to help others when I can. We are all brothers and sisters and should always help each other as often as we can. I go to church on a weekly basis and participate as much as possible. Learning more about God can do nothing but enhance my way of living. I am not perfect, but I try everyday to be like my Savior. It is only through him that I can become better than I am.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

David W. Patterson II (Bubba)
Yes I do! If you go back to the Bible you will see that when Jesus established His Church it had a prophet, 12 apostols, the power to baptize, and so forth. This church is set up the same way today. The only way to know that these men are called of God is to ask God in the name of Jesus Christ if it is true. I know He will answer your prayers. Show more Show less
