Hi I'm Scott

I'm a musician, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In high school I was in various garage bands. I love to write music and play it as well. There's nothing more fun than performing in front of a crowd. I'm passionate about crafting songs and then recording them. Right now I am serving as a full time missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. But there came a time when I was a teenager to question the things I had been taught my whole life. I believed that if there was a God that he would prove himself upon being tested. So I began to pay attention to the fruits, or results, of obedience to the commandments of the Lord as taught through the living prophets. I noticed that I wasn't as happy and I didn't feel as good when I wasn't following the Lord. And when I was following, I noticed a difference in my happiness. I felt more peace in my life. This continues today - when I choose not to listen to the living prophets, I feel more stressed and worried. And when I do follow, I have the feeling that, no matter what trials may come upon me, everything will turn out okay. I have come to learn that that peace and comfort comes from the Holy Ghost, who is sent by the Lord. And those feelings are what keep me seeking after these things.

How I live my faith

I'm serving the Lord right now as a full-time missionary. I absolutely love it. Being able to really get to know people and their biggest doubts and fears about life and help them find out how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can help them in their unique circumstance is a true blessing and has strenghtened my faith that the Lord really is our best friend. He's constantly there to extend his arm when we fall down. He's just waiting for us to reach out and grab his hand.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

God has always called prophets. Basically a prophet teaches the pure Gospel of Christ. He is given the authority from God to do so. If we come to know, through study and prayer, that the prophet living today, really does have God's authority, then we will be able to trust that what he teaches is really from God. And the doubts or confusion that we have because of all the different teachings in all the different churches wont matter because we will know that the prophet is the one who has been called by God to teach us the truth. Which is exactly what Moses, Noah, Abraham and the original 12 apostles did. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The reason we proselyte has to do with the reason we are all here on this earth. We, as children of our Heavenly Father, chose to come to earth to learn how to become more like Him. The way that Heavenly Father helps us learn is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel helps us to overcome life's challenges and better ourselves by helping us learn from our mistakes and repenting, or changing ourselves, to become more like our Heavenly Father. Many people do not know how to do this, or where to find the true teachings of Jesus Christ. That's why I go out everday and talk to people about it. The goal is to help them learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and develop their own faith in him, and show them where the path is. I continue in this effort because I've seen the Gospel help people through their concerns about life, and I know there are more people out there who need that, and are looking for it as well.
