Hi I'm Brandon Kartchner

I'm from Salt Lake. I'm quite eccentric. I'm a beast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Rose Park, Utah, but later moved, and currently am from, Riverton, Utah. I grew up entirely in Salt Lake! I love it! I am the oldest of three children. My parents raised me to know what's right and wrong. I graduated from Riverton High School. I choose good friends that continually influence me to do good. I have a dog named Princess, and I absolutely love her! I'd do anyhting for that dog. I consider myself a pretty laid back guy, but apparently a lot of people think I'm nuts. Beast is by far my favorite word. Polyester ties are fantastic! I know more about Star Wars than most people should. I absolutely love the people in and around Shenandoah, Iowa! I absolutely love music. It's a pretty big part in my life. I love hardcore music, but now I've found that positive music is what I truly love. For real. The way I deal with stress is a solid prayer with my Heavenly Father and a good work out. Haha! I love my family. They are the closest people in my life and I would do anything for them. Booyah!

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are faithful Mormons so I grew up in the Mormon church. I was taught about what the Mormons believed my whole life. After several years of living my life aimlessly, and not involving God in my life, I decided to find out for myself whether all that I had been taught was true. I read from the Book of Mormon, and prayed and asked God if it was true everyday. Through those warm, peaceful feelings that can only come from God, the Holy Ghost answered my sincere prayers. The more I live by the things this church believes in, I feel these same feelings and know that this is where God needs me to be.

How I live my faith

I attend the church service every Sunday. It brings a feeling of peace from the busy week. I read from the scriptures daily. I know that I can find the answers to the many questions I have in them. The scriptures are a true source of comfort. I pray often. Through prayer I know that God is there, and that He truly hears and answers my prayers. I take every opportunity I can to share things about the Mormon church with people because this church has brought me so much joy and comfort. This has become a true joy as I am now a missionary in the Nebraska Omaha Mission. I know Christ is my Savior. He set the perfect example, and I strive to follow Him. None of us are perfect, especially me. But I know that I can repent, and change because of the sacrifice of my Savior. He gives me the strength to change and become better.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Brandon Kartchner
Action! Faith is a principle of action. Christ set the perfect example for us, and has told us what we must do in the scriptures. we may feel that we don't have enough faith to even try some of these things, but I found that if we put our trust in God and do what He's asked of us, we can do it. That builds faith. We exercise faith in many things: would you even flip the light switch if you didn't think the light will turn on? Of course not! But we have confidence that the light will turn on if we flip that switch. That is faith. I know that God doesn't ask us to do anything unless He provides a way for us to do it. He loves us that much. Have confidence in Him! I encourage you to just try to do the things God has asked us to do. Just try! It takes action! Show more Show less
