Hi I'm Donna

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 63. I am a cancer survivor. I'm a widow who doesn't like to cook. I have 5 grandchildren. I love to travel to many different places. I love my family very much. I am a convert to the church. I was first attracted to the church by the values that the church places on families.

Why I am a Mormon

When the missionaries first came over and taught me about the plan of salvation, it really resonated with me. Initially, the Plan of Salvation was attractive to me because I wanted to know that my family would always be with me. When I was first learning about the plan of salvation, I had lots of questions that have been resolved by the teachings of the church and through prayer. Since my husband died, it has become even more important to me. I don't know how I would have gotten through the first months of grief without the gospel and the knowledge that the pain of separation was only temporary. I will be with my husband for eternity.

How I live my faith

Some of the ways that I live my are that I attend church services every Sunday. There are 3 areas of service that I participate in. I teach young women ages 16 to 18. It is very rewarding when the girls answer questions in a way that indicate their understanding. Also, I provide compassionate service to families in need. Sometimes it is bringing in meals for the first few days after a hospital stay, birth of a baby, or loss of a loved one. Sometimes we run errands or help with housework. We like to give service and love to others. Lastly, I help make sure that all of the women of our congregation have been visited on a monthly basis to ensure that their needs are being met. In the community, I have volunteered to drive cancer patients to their treatment appointments. I find much enjoyment in serving others.
