Hi I'm Scott

I'm a husband, father, software developer, history lover, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a wonderful wife and currently have one beautiful little daughter. I recently graduated from college in Computer Science and am currently working full-time as a software developer. I enjoy hiking, camping, riding my bike, and reading (especially history).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During my teenage years I often wondered if what I had been taught all my life was true. I always remained very active in the Church, but I kept searching for a conversion experience--some event that I could always point to and say "Ever since that, I've known the Church is true." But, that event never came. What did come was the slow but very steady realization that I had had so many little experiences that there was no way I could doubt the Church was true. My testimony came from many years of praying, studying the scriptures, attending church, helping others, and seeing and feeling the influence of God in my life. There were countless times I was comforted right when I needed it, or had the answer to a question come to me right when I needed it, or just had the feeling that I was doing the right thing. My testimony has continued to grow since I was a teenager in the same way it grew all of my life--little by little. But, I have no doubt that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that he restored his church through Joseph Smith, and that the current president of the Church is a prophet called by God. I know that The Book of Mormon is a true book. And, I know through my own experience that God will hear and answer our prayers. It may not happen when we want it or how we want it, but he will answer.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life so that I can be a good example to those around me. I love to help other people that I meet in any way that I can. I also do my best to help my home be a place where my family can learn about the Savior and his gospel, and where the Spirit can be at all times. I pray and study the scriptures on my own each day as well as with my family. I attend church each week and love the time I able to spend there learning with other people who are trying to live Christ-like lives.
