Hi I'm Peter Totten

I'm a film student, I play jazz, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Minnesota and i love art in any form. I have grown to love running, hot days, rock climbing, ultimate frisbee and pickles. I studied at Brigham Young University and love the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a happier person because i'm Mormon. I know that i have a loving Heavenly Father who wants me to succeed. I know that Jesus Christ gave His life for me and I love Him for that. Christ has set an example for me to follow, and that is how i try to live my life. I love learning about the Gospel and I am a Mormon because it blesses my life. :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others. I love to serve people because I feel good when I do. I love to be happy, and this church makes me feel so good. I know that God loves us all and so he has given us His church again.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Short Answer: Joseph Smith. Long Answer: After Christ died, there was a lot of confusion about doctrine. Eventually, loads of churches were formed, all believing different things. Joseph Smith grew up in Palmyra, New York, where there was a lot of religious excitement. Everyone was talking about religion and joining this church or that one. Joseph read in the bible about Christ establishing His church. He wanted to join that church. He looked at all the churches and none of them he felt were right. As he continued to read the bible and ask questions, he read a verse that helped in his search; "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally..." (James 1:5). He took that as his answer and decided to pray and ask God. In answer to his prayer, God and Jesus Christ came down and told Joseph that none of the churches had the fullness of Christ's church, and that it was time for it to be restored. Joseph was called by God to bring back Christ's Church exactly as it was when He walked the earth, Show more Show less
