Hi I'm Darbie

I am a farm girl at heart, but I now live in the suburbs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three. I spend my days pushing children on swings and cleaning up mud and sand messes. I used to play fast pitch softball. I now think watching 5 year olds play t-ball is the most entertaining thing there is. I love getting a babysitter once in awhile to spend time alone with my husband, even if it is to the grocery store.

Why I am a Mormon

Each person has to choose for themselves whether they believe what they have been taught. It doesn't matter if you were born into the church or if it is the first time you've heard it. We had just found out 5 weeks earlier that we weren't just having one baby, but two. And there I was sitting in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit praying harder than I had my entire life that my 1 1/2 pound babies would live. My son had a brain hemorrhage and my daughter had a staff infection in her blood. We went home each night expecting a phone call telling us they had passed away. I prayed and prayed to understand why this was happening. I had to decide whether to trust or blame God. After many nights of tears and prayers I felt the Savior's love and understanding. His Atoning Sacrifice helped take away my pain and has since carried me through years of caring for these special children.

How I live my faith

Most of my time is spent with my children. I try to teach them everyday to do the right thing and to trust in Heavenly Father and Jesus. We pray and read the scriptures together every day. I try to teach my children that serving others is very important. I try to help others in need and get my children's help if they can.

What is faith?

Darbie
Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, but which are true. Faith is an action word. You have to believe what you are being taught, and then act on that faith. Show more Show less
