Hi I'm Abi

I grew up in Kansas. I love Math. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 2 boys who I love staying home with. I graduated in Mathematics Education in 2008 and in my spare time I do substitute teaching at the high school. I enjoy scrap-booking and canning pie fillings, vegetables and beans.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home that taught and lived the teachings of the Gospel. The high school I went to, however, did not have very many members. I had to decide for myself if I was going to live the principles I had been taught and after seeing the problems others faced I decided it was easier to live the Gospel. Through prayer and scripture study I have felt the closeness of my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. At the times in my life when I was not close to the promptings of the Holy Ghost I felt lost and desired the companionship of my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

In my mid-20’s I learned to play the piano. Soon after I started taking lessons I was asked to play the music for meetings. Music had always been a big part of my life, but now I am able to practice and play each week. I also sing the Children’s songs to my boys to help them get to sleep at night or at other times when they need calmed down. Each week I take my boys to the Humanitarian Center near our home. We make various items that are sent to those in need. I have made receiving blankets, dolls, and my boys have helped to stuff balls.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is an organization of women. In our Relief Society meetings that take place on Sunday as part of our worship we are taught lessons that will increase our understanding of the principles of the Gospel. Relief Society women also help each other if a need arises such as providing a meal after the birth of a child, preparing a meal for a funeral, and cleaning a house after surgery. What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that through his atoning sacrifice we can be cleansed from our sins. Not only did Jesus Christ suffer for our sins, but he was also resurrected and because Christ was resurrected we too will live again after our death. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Although he was born of a mortal mother he still possessed divine power by virtue of his Father who is a God. Show more Show less
