Hi I'm Clarissa

I'm a registered nurse, I grew up in the Philippines as well as here in America. I'm engaged and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I am a single female currently work full-time doing home health and I am also going to a local university to pursue my masters in nursing. My goal is one day to be able to do public health and help educate the public on health promotion, disease prevention. I enjoy reading, outdoor activities, hiking, playing sports such as tennis, going to the temple, church activities, volunteer work, animals, spending time with family and friends, talking, laughing and travelling.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to be a latter-day saint. I am blessed to have a single mother who diligently brought us to church every sunday which allowed us to learn gospel principles early on in life. There was a time in my life when I was inactive in church and stopped practicing my beliefs for several years. Then I met a friend who invited me to different activities and functions, such as institute (bible study classes), that renewed my motivation to come back to church once again. Since then I have served a church mission in Alaska and have increased my testimony of the truthfulness of this restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be as Christ-like as I possibly can. I pray daily and read my scriptures daily individually and as a couple, I go to church every Sunday to worship him. I go to the beautiful and peaceful house of the Lord, the temple. But most of all I live my faith by loving God with all my heart with all my soul and with all my might and also loving my neighbor as myself. I have a lot to improve on, but I can see the vast changes that the gospel is able to instill in me. I feel that I am growing. I feel that I have purpose. By obeying the principles and ordinances of the gospel I am able to feel the spirit in my life that gives me the peace and guidance I need.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

This has been a commandment of the Lord that has been practiced many years ago, it is also written in the Bible how Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek. Show more Show less

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

One of the ordinances we do is baptism, in the Book of Mormon it states that when we are baptized we covenant to mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort. This is one of the ways we help to achieve this promise. Show more Show less
