Hi I'm Ryan Jamison

I grew up in southern California. I am a father of three children and I am a cardiac anesthesiologist. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as a member of the church. I was married and then unfortunately ended up getting a divorce. I currently practice as a cardiac anesthesiologist at a medium sized community hospital in orange county. I am the father of three wonderful children whom I have the fortunate opportunity to raise in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy surfing, wakeboarding, playing hockey and riding my dirtbike, and teaching my kids how to do all of these things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon for one simple fact, because I CHOOSE to be. I have been in discussions with people where they try to suggest that I follow this faith because of where I was born, or because I was raised in the church, but the simple fact of the matter is that these reasons would never be enough for me to retain membership. It is not always "easy" to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There are many of the principles and teachings that do not necessarily align with what is taught and lived in much of the world today, but there in lies the glorious truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We are never expected to take anything on blind faith, as we study the scriptures and listen to latter day apostles and prophets, we can learn of the eternal principles that will allow us to become closer to our Heavenly Father and as we do this, we can gain a testimony of those principles by incorporating them into our lives and then striving to diligently live them. Then an amazing thing happens, the moment we sincerely strive to live an eternal principle that we have learned, our Heavenly Father begins to bless us. It is an undeniable form of positive reinforcement headed by a loving and caring, eternal Heavenly Father who wants for our success in this life so that He can bless us now and in the eternities. I am a mormon because I have received an undeniable witness and testimony of the truths that I have learned through diligent study and prayer and then living the principles that I have come to learn and seeing the way that such living has blessed my life and the lives of those around me in an immeasurable fashion. In this regard, I share a similar testimony to that of the prophet Joseph Smith, "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it; at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation." I love the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, it is the way to eternal life!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in several very meaningful ways. I am a youth leader, and I have the opportunity to teach and advise the teenage boys in my ward. I participate in the churches home teaching program that affords members of the ward the opportunity to visit with other members of the ward in their homes at least monthly, to deliver a gospel message, and assist in fulfilling any needs that that family may have. Furthermore, strive to be an example of gospel living in the way that I conduct my relationships with the people that I work with. I love sharing the gospel with my coworkers and have been afforded many rich opportunities to have gospel centered discussions in the work place that have been the source of much joy for my self and enlightenment for the people I have had the opportunity to talk to. This has truly enriched my life and made going to work a joy!! Finally, I live my faith through my commitment to my family and creating a gospel centered home. Our homes are to be a shelter from the outside world and I strive to create this environment for my kids where the spirit can thrive and my children can learn to live the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
