Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mom. I love reading, running, writing, music, and sewing. I am currently training for my first marathon, and although it's hard, I think I have discovered a new passion!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I always felt good at church. I could feel the spirit reading my scriptures. I had a testimony that Jesus Christ is real from the time I was a little girl. I decided to stay in the church after I had an opportunity to be apart of an orchestra for another religion when I was a teenager. In this other church, I noticed that the people were very nice. I began to wonder if it really was important to belong to a specific church or not. I prayed to know the answer for myself. When I went to church the next time (at my regular ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), I sat and listened to the testimonies of the members. I could feel a fire in my heart that told me that this was where I was meant to be and that this church had the fullness of the gospel. I continue to feel this "burning in my bosom" when I go to church, read my scriptures, pray to my Heavenly Father, and go to the temple. I know it is the true church of God on this earth, and that He is there for me and for all of us.

How I live my faith

In our church, we have a program called visiting teaching. In it, the sisters of the ward try to help and care for the other sisters and their families. It is an excellent way to give Christ like service to the people around us. I am the visiting teaching supervisor in my ward. I enjoy it a lot! I get to be in contact with lots of people and build friendships. It helps a naturally shy person like me to come out of their shell! Most importantly though, it helps me turn my mind to service and what I can do to be more like my Savior.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

There is an undeniable power when one reads the scriptures diligently, and with a humble heart, ready to learn. I always feel closer to the Holy Ghost when I read my scriptures. I find answers to my questions. I find peace in my trials. I'd recommend a daily study of the Book of Mormon and the Bible to anyone. Show more Show less
