Why I am a Mormon

I respect other people with their beliefs and here are mine. I have a testimony of and I respect, honor and love my Heavenly Father. I am so thankful to our Savior Jesus Christ for his Atoning Sacrifice. I appreciate the guidance by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost. And to the Godhead I appreciate this beautiful world and all the opportunities we have in this life to learn and grow. I have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as the only true Church on the Face today. We have a living Prophet of the World. The Scriptures are true. God answers our Prayers. These testimonies have been confirmed over and over again many times in my life.

How I live my faith

Last year I decided to read all the Standard Works in one year. It is only 7 pages a day to read the Old and New Testament, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine & Covenants and Book of Mormon. It gave me an overwhelming sense that God is still taking care of our world that He created and His children. We can choose to read the bad news in the newspaper or the gospel the word means 'good news' I choose to read the words of the prophets that I appreciate so much. They sacrificed so much to bring the scriptures to us. The scriptures talk about two things...The Divinity of Jesus Christ and our day and age which many prophets saw in visions. I testify that reading them will give us comfort and peace in these the Last Days.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Patti Miner
Men in our religion preside over the family with love and kindness. Mothers nurture the family. Many people ask if I think women are treated fairly in our religion. I personally feel honored and respected in our home and church. I feel that women are highly respected in my religion. Our Women’s Organization called the Relief Society is one of the largest organized women’s group in the world run by women. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Patti Miner
Womanhood is an equally sacred calling that we have. With it come many sacred and righteous purposes of God. The men hold the Priesthood and preside over the family with love and kindness. Mothers nurture the family. Many people ask if I think women are treated fairly in our religion. I personally feel honored and respected in our home and church. What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Patti Miner
I love donating to the Church Humanitarian Program and would suggest anyone to do the same…because every dollar goes directly to help the people who need the help and not into the pockets of those running the program or to the upkeep of the program like some other charities may have to do. You can even donate to ‘Cash for Emergency Response” for any disasters that may come up in the future. The Church is often the first to respond. Check out the “Welfare Services Fact Sheet” to find out how they have helped the world by giving $258 Million Dollars cash and $750 Million Dollars Worth of Material Assistance to the Poor and Needy in 165 countries around the World Check out the “List of World Wide Humanitarian Activities” This link tells about the Humanitarian Aid. http//www.lds.org/humanitarianservices/0,19749,6208,00.html Here are some actual links and other ways to donate to the Church Humanitarian Program http//www.lds.org/ldsfoundation/welfare/0,7133,1325-1-9--cWELFAREPOSTER,00.html Show more Show less
