Hi I'm Sharon

I grew up in Coconut Grove,Florida.Worked with disadvantaged youth thru Flag football.Fan of the Miami Dolphins& Heat.

About Me

I live in Florida.Im a college graduate. I'm the mom of a 19 year old teenager and my mom recently passed in March of this year 2011. I worked for 25 years with AT&T as a Communications Tech. I retired in 1996 and became avidly involved as a flag football coach, and a Karaoke hostess!!! What a turn around! I also work on another web site getting local sports athletes football scholarships.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I've felt different.I felt God put us here to help one another thru our God-given talents and strengths. I never thought MONEY should dictate helping another human being.I felt God gave us our talents to be the barter by which we exchange among ourselves. I always wanted to know what was spirit"What is God's Kingdom. What do I need to do to get to God's Kingdom. All I ever heard was "go to church'.."read your Bible"..."pay your dues"..NO ONE EVER TALKED ABOUT THE SPIRIT BEING IN ME.NO ONE EVER MADE IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE! UNTIL I MET 2 SISTER MISSIONARIES.My mom died this past March(2011)..I questioned God as to WHY???God you're a miracle worker! Couldn't you make her well??Where did you take her Father??Is she alright? Will she be treated right??Will you take care of her like I tried to?? What happened to her spirit? Will I EVER see her again??Where did I come from??Why am I here??Is my life worth living??This is my testimony--thru The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day -Saints, I was shown and given the answers to ALL of these questions. The people of the church showed me The Gospel and how to live it,love it and share it with my fellow Children of Christ.I don't feel lost anymore.I feel needed and blessed.Mostly I know God loves me and has picked me up and set my feet awalkin' on a 'strait & narrow' path.I KNEW redemption involved more than just SHOWING UP!! REALLY--FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS--DEAD.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith daily thru prayer, active involvement in my ward's Relief Society.I am my ward's FamilySearch Consultant--I finally get to use that History degree! Most of all I am a missionary to Preach & Teach The Gospel..I'm studying daily..learning my scriptures and feeling the spirit and reaping God's blessings! This past April 2012 I was called to be my Stake's Family History Center Director in Homestead,Florida. I know the scriptures are true..As a result of my new calling, I have had so many revelations which have strengthen my testimony. I read my scriptures everyday, pray, serve my fellows and live my life.Things aren't always easy but with the restored gospel and faith, I receive comfort and direction. My Heavenly Father and His commandments continue to be first in my life. This past year I've had a few surgeries BUT none have kept me from serving my neighbor/sisters&brothers! Working with young minds&hearts can be an adventure&enlightening! I was recently called to serve as Seminary Teacher for our Stake.I was stunned w/ fear, thinking I would be INCAPABLE of doing such a monumental calling!!! Doubt set in, but later--ERASED&replaced w/ a deep sense of hope&faith, that I could, WE could...and u know what? It's going great still and I"M LEARNING & GROWING in my testimony!
