Hi I'm Kellie

I'm a nerd. I like Math and Physics. I'm an artist. I love Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kellie. I am a 25 year old student. I have been a member of the Mormon church since I was 8 years old. Through out my life I have had many great opportunities to gain a personal testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and have grown closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. Knowing who I am and why I am here on earth has greatly impacted the decisions I have made in my life, my goals, and what I would like to do with my life. I love to serve at my local hospital as a volunteer. I also run an online craft business where part of the profit goes towards various non profit charities. As I have grown older in my life I have come to realize that my main goal in life is to help people and to make some sort of a difference. I am getting my bachelors degree in Physics, and hoping to continue my education at graduate school in Medical Physics. I would really like to become a Medical Physicist someday and help treat individuals suffering from cancer, and also help develop more ways to apply physics and mathematics towards medical research.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the principles taught through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. He is the light in my life and brings never ending peace and happiness in a world full of darkness and turmoil. I feel that being a Mormon has blessed my life, my attitude, and my perspective. Being a Mormon I do not feel lost or confused when it comes to religion. I know my place in life, where I came from, and where I have the potential to go. Knowing these things gives me great strength to overcome life's challenges and to be who the Lord would want me to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my church meetings regularly every Sunday. I also enjoy attending the temple regularly. I find direction through daily scripture study, personal prayer, and journal writing. I attend a Young Single Adult ward, which is a great place for young singles who are members of the church to get together enjoy each others talents, develop life long friendships, and strengthen each others testimonies. I have the calling of a visiting teaching coordinator. My job is to help promote and get the sisters excited to visit teach and serve each other, develop love for one another, and strengthen the sisterhood in the relief society. In my personal life I look for ways to serve others each day. I believe that when we serve others we are serving Jesus Christ. I receive joy in serving which also strengthens my testimony and relationship with my Savior.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Kellie
When I read the scriptures or the Book of Mormon on a regular basis I feel a daily protection against temptation. I also feel that when I put the Lord first in my day and read and ponder the scriptures, I am more capable of accomplishing what I need to get done and even more than I expected. I feel peaceful and gain understanding from taking the time to search the scriptures. They are one of the ways God communicates with His children here on the earth. Even though they were written in the past and the people who wrote them are from a different time, I still find that the principles and doctrine in them can always be applied to my personal life. I feel blessed that I have a loving Heavenly Father that has given me the scriptures for guidance and direction in my life.  Show more Show less
