Hi I'm Nyssa.

I'm an editor, an English student, and a newlywed. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student majoring in English and minoring in editing. I have a real interest in publishing and hope to break into the industry when I graduate. I've been married since December 2010, and I love my husband and our pet cat. I read literature and science fiction, and I love blogging.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the Church after I got in a major car accident. I flipped off the freeway and fell into a ditch, but I emerged without a scratch on my body. I knew at that point that my life had to have a purpose beyond what I could see with my narrow vision. I attended a Mormon church service with one of my coworkers eight months later, and I felt the Spirit very strongly when I watched a video about Joseph Smith's First Vision. I continue to be a Mormon because the Church takes my life in the right direction. I've experienced so much happiness and so many blessings because of my faith, and I'm so glad to have developed a relationship with Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in the Church as an assistant to my Sunday School class. More generally, I try my best to read my scriptures and pray every day so that I might have the Spirit in my life. Having the Spirit helps me know where I can best serve other people. I try to establish harmony in my household by working together with my husband and by taking care of the house. I know that this kind of harmony will bring the Spirit, and I know that we need that kind of peace in our place of residence.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Nyssa.
Studying the scriptures always brings peace into my life. Practically any answer we could need to our problems in life can be found within the pages of the Book of Mormon, the Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, or other inspired words from our Apostles and prophet.  You can receive a knowledge of what your priorities should be in life, inspiration to work harder, and the blessings of happiness that the Holy Ghost brings to your life. You will come to know God and your Savior through studying their words, and that is of immense importance. Show more Show less
