Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a wife, a mother, and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the stay at home mom of 2 little girls, ages 3 and 1. I have a degree in Exercise Science, and yet I hate to exercise. I love reading, music, hiking, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, so the truths it teaches have always been a part of my life. As I've grown older, I've gained a strong testimony of my own that this gospel is true, that The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I'm a Mormon because living the gospel brings light to my life and makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through daily prayer and scripture study. Doing these things helps me to feel closer to God, and more in tune to what He would have me do. I live my faith by teaching my daughters about the church and nourishing their testimonies. I live my faith by serving others. In our local congregation, I serve the children of the ward, most often the children ages 18 months to 3 years. I enjoy watching them learn to sing and play with other children, it's amazing to see how much these little children learn in just a few years! But my favorite part of serving in the nursery is how still and reverent they become when we teach them about Jesus. Their busy little bodies are calm and still for a few minutes as we show them pictures and teach from the Book of Mormon and the Bible. During these quiet moments, I really feel like I'm getting just as much spiritual nourishment as they are. I also visit 3 women in our ward once a month, to bring them a spiritual message and assist them with whatever their needs may be. Once again, I think I get just as much out of it as they do! It's a wonderful opportunity to forge friendships and grow together in the gospel.
