Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a college student living the gospel.

About Me

I am a junior in college, studying to be a singer. I love to sing and spend hours a day practicing and studying music. I love running, and hanging out with my friends. I’m also the oldest child in my family and I always try to be a good example to my younger siblings.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon gives me a sense of hope. There’s always going to be something there to block my path, but the gospel gives me that drive to get back up and press forward keeping my head held high as I learn to battle life’s challenges.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the small things. I read the scriptures every day even if just for a couple minutes. I pray to my heavenly father, and listen to his quiet promptings. And I try to be an example by serving others even if that service is just a smile.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We don’t worship Joseph Smith, we revere him just as our country would do for George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. We see them as a great leader and an influence for good on our country. We, as Mormons, see Joseph Smith as a great leader, without him we wouldn’t have this church however we do not worship him, we’re just grateful for the many sacrifices and time he gave to this church so that we may have it. How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

This is something I asked myself and it wasn’t until recently that I found the answer. I was looking to do some big thing, like read my scriptures all day every day, but I’ve since learned that it’s by the small things we do every day that help us know Heavenly Father. It’s by being nice to others love them how you want to be loved. Read your scriptures every day, and pray even if just for a short time. Over time as we serve, and keep Heavenly Fathers commandments we slowly come to know him because we are becoming like him. Show more Show less
