Hi I'm Eric

I live in Alberta, Canada. I love the outdoors, good music, delicious food, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

Born and raised on a farm in southern Indiana I was taught at a young age how to work hard. I came to love the outdoors through Scouts and also through a natural pull I had toward all things wilderness related. I am very active; I enjoy exercising, running, hiking, fishing, camping...essentially anything that involves being outside and moving around! I also have a passion for music. I am always looking to broaden my horizons and currently I play piano, drums, saxophone, bagpipes, and a little bass guitar...my latest endeavor has been to learn the harmonica (which has turned out to be a blast!). I currently work in construction to save up for schooling. I have applied for a Business program with an Accounting Major (starting in the fall). I am also recently engaged! My sweetheart and I will be married for time and all eternity in the temple in July.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to be a Mormon because I was born into the Church. I just assumed that this was how I was to live and I never really thought about it. As I grew older I fell into serious transgression. I hit "rock bottom". It was only with the help of family and friends that I was able to begin making serious changes in my life. This led me to dig deep inside myself to see what I truly believed...there wasn't much there, but it was something. I built on that small seed of faith. It has taken literally years; there were so many times I felt like quitting. Through prayer and intense personal devotion, I am able to proudly stand tall with my firm testimony. I know that my Savior lives and He loves me; He is always there...He will NEVER leave you behind if you just simply turn to Him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me the opportunity to receive the fullness of God's word. Through the strengthening words of the Book of Mormon and the Bible I have come to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. My relationship with Him would not be where it is today without the blessings I have received through my membership in the LDS church. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I strive every day to be just a little better, I believe that our Heavenly Father wants us to be the best that we can be. I surround myself with things that are good and invite the Spirit and shy away from things that would drive it away. I don't flaunt my faith or wear it on my sleeve, but I do try to smile at everybody and show them how joyful my life is because of the Gospel.
