Hi I'm Jasmine

I'm from Alberta, Canada. I'm a Mormon

About Me

As the youngest in a family of four girls, I grew up with a unique personality and sense of identity. I love my home in Alberta, the green hills, the Rocky Mountains, and the best beef in the world, but there was always a part of me that felt at home in the USA. So, when High School graduation came, I made the decision to go back there for school. I love language, and I currently study Linguistics with an Editing minor. I speak Spanish, and hope to travel some day. At the time, I am grateful for an education and for the wonderful friends and family that surround me.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into this church, I had to gain a personal knowledge that the principles that it is built upon are true. I came to this knowledge as I read the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and as I prayed to my Heavenly Father. As I did so, I felt God's love surround me. I began to feel like I had the strength to overcome any challenge. Whether that was a High School project, deciding where to go to University, or what to do with my life. The challenges I have faced have never disappeared, but every time that I want to give up, out of frustration, confusion, or sorrow, I find one more reason to continue. I find the strength I need in Jesus Christ. It is the knowledge that I have, of the sacrifice he made, that lets me know that no matter what I'm going through, he's been there. And he went through it all because he loves me. And if He can do that, I feel that I can too.

How I live my faith

At University, I feel very fortunate to have many opportunities to live my faith. I was able to organize activities for our congregation and also participate in service projects. It is not necessarily in organized service, however, that I find the most opportunities to live my faith. I often find that in my daily contact with others, and how I choose to respond to certain situations, is how the world is able to see what I believe. I have fallen short many times, but I give my best effort to showing a genuine interest in others, and doing the little things every day, because I know that Jesus Christ would have done the same thing. Following His example is how we live our faith, every day.
