Hi I'm Jason

I grew up in southern Utah. I'm a family doctor and have a wonderful family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I decided to be a physician in my late 20's. By that time I had 3 children. This made medical school challenging and quite a different experience than most others had. We now have 5 children in our family. I like to read and am drawn to current events as well as history.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel as originally given by the Savior and as restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith is the only path to true happiness. Guidelines are given that help us to avoid sin and move in the direction of returning to our Heavenly Father. He wants us to return to him and has put forward a plan that will do that for us if we can recognize it and act on it. I have lived all around my country and have traveled around the world. I have seen many cultures and had interactions with adherents to many religions. There is some truth in many of these. The gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in his true church encompasses all of these truths. All are part of the gospel. The plan as revealed to our modern prophets is all-encompassing. Every guideline or commandment put forward by the Lord or one of his prophets can be verified by every member. As members of the church we are encouraged to get a personal witness about everything that affects us. This guides my life and my actions and helps me to guide my family.

How I live my faith

I have several callings within the church. I home-teach several families that I see every month to make sure things are going well for them. I am assigned as a seminary teacher meaning I teach a class to high-school aged youth during the school year for an hour starting at 6am. This year we are focusing on the Old Testament. Next year it will be the New Testament. Then the Book of Mormon and finally the the Doctrine and Covenents.
