Hi I'm Rande Vause

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. My wife and I have nine children through previous marriages, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Until I retired - January of 2013 - I was the Executive Director for a non-profit, helicopter research corporation. And yes, I am an active Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is complicated and busy - there always seems to be more than enough to do. Through it all, my knowledge of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is what gives me understanding and perspective as I strive to maintain balance and to find peace, contentment and happiness in life. Of most importance to me is my family. Of great concern are my children - even though they are adults - I still fret about their needs and their concerns. Yet, it is their children I worry about the most. Today’s world is not the same as it was when I was a youth. I worry about the many challenges our grandchildren and great-grandchildren have in their lives and continually ask what my wife and I can do to help/guide them in becoming productive, useful and happy adults. The answers are found in our following the admonitions of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

How I live my faith

I believe that true peace, contentment and happiness in this life come through living the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are individuals – some of whom I have met casually and others with whom I regularly associate - who seem to be truly at peace, are content and are both outwardly and inwardly happy. I have observed that they often exhibit several traits in common…they are humble…charitable…slow to find fault…quick to praise …quick to offer assistance…and they treat all people as their equal. They follow the teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. As I desire and strive to become and live more as the Savior would have me live, I also want to help my children and grandchildren understand that living the Gospel of Jesus Christ will lead each one of them to peace, contentment and happiness in their lives. A scripture often comes to mind wherein the Savior reminds us: “Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you…If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (In the Holy Bible, see Matthew 7:7-11) I know how much I love my family…through the above scripture I better understand how much more perfectly Heavenly Father loves them…and how much He loves me. As I search to find peace, contentment and happiness in my life - as I look to teach my family how to find these things in theirs - I am reminded that I can have all I search for. The source is our loving Heavenly Father who holds out His arms waiting for us to ask so that He may give us His most choice blessings…if we will simply follow in the footsteps of His son, Jesus the Christ.
