Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a Latter Day Saint in Florida. I became a member of the church in April 1998.

About Me

I am a full-time student, working on my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. I also work as a substitute teacher. I am a mother of one daughter and I am married to the greatest man on the planet. I live on a small farm in Labelle Florida, which is a lot of fun. I love animals.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I am a convert to the church, and I did so when I was 18. I was out of state, in college, and my roommate was taking the missionary discussions. I was to church one Sunday, which none of us drove, so one of the families picked us up. I was invited to another members home for FHE on Monday, and from then on, I was never alone. I was either with a member and their family or the missionaries. College was scary for me, and the church extended their own families to me. I didn't actually start reading the Book of Mormon on my own until the missionaries handed me a new copy and asked me to start reading it from page #1. On that page they had handwritten their testimonies. It gave me much more security and peace in knowing what I was reading was true. I did tell my mom, when I went home that summer, and I expected a "reaction" when I told her that I had converted from my Catholic background. She seemed more at peace and expressed how she was pleased that while I was at college, I spent my time wisely with good people and doing something that made me a better person, than going out and partying like she had imagined would happen being many states away. She embraced my decision. Unfortunately, I was inactive when she passed away in 2007, and at this time, I am working on my family history, so that I may share the gospel with my family that has already passed away. I cannot wait to be able to bless them the way they blessed me while they were alive.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? I try to love everyone. I am not perfect, and I am not supposed to be. But I do my best to live as I am supposed to live, pray when I feel the need and/or desire to, and to be thankful for all that I am given. I strive to read my scriptures as often as I can. I work my best to be a positive example and role model for not only my daughter and husband, but also to others that may not know that my "faith" is the reason I am the person that I am.
