Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a college student, a wife, and a dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy college student who is trying to balance life between school, work, dance, and my relationship with my husband. Both my husband and I love to do ballroom dance. I have been dancing competitively for 6 years and am currently a member of the BYU back-up touring ballroom dance team. In addition to the time I spend on my own team, I am also a technician for the performances of top touring ballroom dance team which my husband is a member of. I am also an avid sports fan. I love to watch everything from football to lacrosse to soccer to rugby. My other hobbies include camping, biking, reading, and painting.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because i know that the gospel that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches is true and that it is the way to happiness. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means so much to me because of all it has given me. I love the peace, hope and strength the gospel brings. I love the comfort and joy that comes with knowing that I will be with my husband and future kids for all of eternity. There have been many times when I've felt alone, confused, and as if I should just give up. But through prayer, scriptures, and the guidance of a living prophet, I have always received the help and strength I've needed. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who listen to my prayers and know me individually. With their help, I can overcome anything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reaching out to those around me. By volunteering in service projects or just doing small acts of kindness I am able to show the love that Jesus would have me show.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes they can! When a husband and wife are married by the power of God's holy priesthood, they are sealed together for all time and eternity. The children that are born to the couple are also sealed to the parents and to each other forming an eternal family, one which death can not separate. Heaven is made complete by the promise that the earthly relationships made here on earth will continue there, that we won't lose those whom we love so very much. I love the children's song called "Families Can be Together Forever." It says "families can be together forever, through Heavenly Father's plan. I always want to be with my own family, and the Lord has shown me how I can." I am so grateful for the Lord's plan to allow me to live with my family and husband throughout all eternity. They are my everything. Show more Show less
