Hi I'm Laura

I'm a Mormon. I am so blessed to have loving family and friends. I try to follow the Savior's example each day.

About Me

I am an artist, and sometimes if I am lucky I get hired as an occasional art teacher to young children. I love to create art for others the most. Painting, drawing, collage are my forte but I also feel comfortable hand-building or throwing clay on the wheel. I recently graduated with a BFA in Art Education and hope to teach art consistently one day! I also love to learn and try new things. There are few things that I won't try. Yoga, running, and skating are how I keep alive and active. I could camp out in a bookstore all day! I could write for eternity, but it is getting late...

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Even though I grew up in the church, I never doubted and nor will I ever doubt the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and believe it to be the word of God as much as the Bible. I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. Each day I can repent of my mistakes and hope for a better me tomorrow because of the Atonement made for me through the Savior, Jesus Christ. I know this to be true by the power of the Holy Ghost witnessing the truth to my spirit. After many experiences in my life, (OK so I am only 27) I realize that living without spiritual guidance in the world is tough stuff. The more I live my life for the Savior who has given his life for me, and has showed me the way to follow, the happier I am, because I know that is what my Savior wants me to do. My testimony grows stronger each day as I live a life for Him; loving others and keeping the commandments. The truth sets me free from spiritual bondage. He gives me happiness in return. The Atonement is the best gift we can receive!

How I live my faith

Each day I pray to my Heavenly Father about my joys and my struggles. I pray over the little things as well as the big ones. I know that he hears my prayers and wants me to talk to him about my day, just as my father on earth would. The more I pray, the closer I feel to God and the more I want to do good for him and his children, after all he has given to me. I read the scriptures to bring me closer to Him and my Savior, Jesus Christ. The scriptures were prepared for me so I can learn spiritual lessons from people who lived long ago. I regularly attend church and the temple because I need to always renew my testimony consistently to keep it strong. I serve in the Church on the Communications Committee. I try my best to get the word out to all of my single adult friends about fun activities to do together. I love to serve others and have been blessed with the gift of charity, the pure of love of Christ. I make mistakes, but I know I can be forgiven if I repent and change. I am a child of God and try to live up to this name each day. One day, I hope to live with my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ again.
