Hi I'm Toby Allen Rice

I grew up in a Roman Catholic home but now I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the out doors. Two of my favorite hobbies are fishing & Racing. I'm not a mom or a dad but one day I will be. I love sea food, and am willing to really try any type of food. I wrestled in high school and still love coaching young and high school ages. I'm a pretty standard guy.

Why I am a Mormon

My name is Toby Allen Rice. My life in general, led me into a state of depression, doubt, and despair. When summed up FEAR. Fear of not knowing what was next, or where life was going. Then drinking, smoking, and drugs. I was sentenced to do 90 days in jail. This gave me time to think. I studied the bible. One night it hit me! That I needed to repent and ask for forgiveness. I fell to my knees crying so hard and felt so sorrowful for things I had done. I ask the lord for his help. I knew I needed church, but not just any church. I needed the church that was going to teach me the true gospel. So from that day forth I began to pray for it. I searched many churches. For seven years I searched and prayed for the true church. I asked a man once "how will I know when I find the true church?' he responded with a smile "you will just know." I thought to my self OK.Then in spring of 2010 my life would change! I took a job because something inside told me I neeed that job. I knew nothing of Mormons or what they believed. But I was very curious. Then Jason and I had to drive to Seattle. On the second day driving through Idaho it began! A silence came over us. Jason look at me and said "can I share something with you? I've spoken to my wife about this, and I must tell you I don't get this feeling often especially with employees." He asks "can I share the gospel with you?" "Sure!" I said to him with great relief. I knew nothing of Joseph Smith or of plates. As he began to tell of them I started to think to my self "this is a bunch of hooey." I make it through the word "This". A force came over my body and mind, that I could never ever describe in words..I knew at that moment that every word he spoke was true!!! A vision of me asking that man "how will I know when I find the church that teaches me truth?" I finally understood his answer"You will Just Know." I knew life was going to completely change. I am now a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

How I live my faith

Going to church every Sunday is a renewal of my mind and body. The wonderful blessings that come from keeping that sabbath day holy are countless. I love participating in all the ward activities that we have like Easter dinners, young couples date night out, and many other fun activities. I have been a ward missionary, which gives me the wonderful opportunity to share what I have learned about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. To have an influence and impact on peoples lives is such a blessing. Being able to relate to those that my be having similar experiences that I may have had in life. Really breaks the ice for having that opportunity to share how the gospel has changed my life. Praying every night and staying up on my scripture reading. I have found makes it so much easier to deal with the snares that life my throw at us. I just serving others like someone broke down on the side of the road, or an older person that may need help with something, or just providing any of my talents to a fellow man building fence, fixing something, helping out with car issues. This is really the example that the savior wants us to follow. Giving are Love and service to are fellow man, and Loving them no matter what there situation or differences.
