Hi I'm Marc

I grew up in Alaska.

About Me

My family moved to Alaska when I was in first grade. Recently, I finished college with an engineering degree. My wife and I are both from Alaska and I started work here after graduation. We have one little boy whom we adore. I love my little family! I love being in the outdoors. Fishing, kayaking, and hiking are some of my favorite outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

My whole family is Mormon -- aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, and siblings. When I was little, church was just a part of my life, something we did every Sunday. But, there came a time in my life when I decided I needed to know whether the things my family believed were true. I followed the instructions of the ancient prophets found in their holy writings, the Scriptures. They promised heavenly answers to earnest and sincere prayer. Since this was a matter of heaven, I followed their instructions having hope in their promises. I received a heavenly witness, peace of mind and heart, as I asked God, my Heavenly Father, about my family's beliefs. I have had more sacred witnesses of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as I have followed the teachings of the LDS church. I'm a Mormon because of an answer from heaven.

How I live my faith

There is no better feeling than when you help others. I spend a lot of time with youth groups. I organize activities and teach them skills for life. Recently, we went to a nearby lake to practice safely getting out of a submerged kayak. We did this to prepare for a week-long kayak trip later in the summer. These activities build character and give the youth a sense of accomplishment. It was these types of activities that gave me confidence when I was a youth. I live my faith by having fun and sharing what I know with those around me.
