Hi I'm Cullin

I'm a musician, I'm spending the next two years of my life in South Africa and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived my whole like in Arizona, and I'm the youngest in a family of three. I've spent most of my time during high school and my first year of college with music, in various ensembles as well as playing volleyball. My family is does foster care for infants and we've housed around 30 children over the past few years. As of now i'm preparing to go on a mission to Johannesburg, South Africa and when I return I plan to study Psychiatry and work with the criminally insane.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church, but I had a time where I didn't have any faith in the church or of God, and it was obvious in the way that I lived to say the least. Time went on and shortly after I graduated high school I had my own plans that weren't in accordance with the church, and I was okay with that. Then one night the Lord opened my eyes to let me see that the way I want to live my life is up to me, and always will be, but I need to find for myself if the church is true first and then make my choice on the direction to take my life. I began just as anyone investigating the church would, reading The Book of Mormon every night, praying often for assistance, and having hope that there was a God and that He'd give me an answer. I was determined to find for myself if it was true and the only way to find that out was to search for myself. After many nights of study, I eventually finished The Book of Mormon and got to the promise/challenge given at the end to pray to know if it was true or not and I knew this was the moment I've been working so hard to achieve, I also knew I did my part to qualify to receive an answer(as also i'd been trying to live the standards of the church) and now it was time to get my answer from God. I prayed and at first nothing came to me, I was confused to say the least and wasn't sure what it meant, and honestly I was a bit disappointed not to feel a solid answer of it's truth, which in retrospect is probably an answer in and of itself that as I've read my soul already knew of it's truth. Then I began The Book of Mormon again and as I read even just the first few verses I knew of its truth. My doubts were gone, I no longer had to push past the unknown, but it just felt true gradually as I continued to read, becoming more and more real. I'm a Mormon because I have gone after the truth, I've read The Book of Mormon and I know for myself that there is a loving God, He will answer prayers and that The Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is not by any action in particular, but rather an attitude I take to living my life. My life isn't about things I do, but how I try to always follow Christ in every action, thought and moment of my life. I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I do what I can. This attitude leads me to do good actions like attend church weekly where I am the conductor for the music during one of our meetings. Or to try to study scripture daily and follow the guidance of church leaders.
