Hi I'm Heidi.

I'm a high school teacher, runner, scrapbooker and wanna-be world traveler. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most of my world revolves around 100 high school students that I get to interact with everyday. As a teacher in a Title 1 school I spend most of my time teaching, counseling, listening, encouraging, writing lesson plans, grading papers, and doing anything else my students need in order to succeed. I love my students! They make me smile and laugh and rethink my life just about everyday. When I am not with them I enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities such as swimming, running, camping, and hiking. I love to travel, read, and scrapbook. I love to spend time with my awesome family and play, play, play! I enjoy cheering at sporting events, basking in the beauty of fine arts, and eating delicious food. I am an optimist and am determined to be happy and have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because it's true. Truth doesn't change. It isn't based on opinions, popularity, scientific studies or logical reasoning. Truth comes from God who is perfect, unchanging and all-knowing. When the missionaries teach someone the gospel of Jesus Christ they encourage them to ask God if their message is true. Throughout my life I have asked God numerous times if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is his church upon the earth. I have asked him if Joseph Smith was a prophet, if the Book of Mormon is true and if we have a living prophet today. Every time I ask I get a strong reassurance that this His church which is full of truth. I believe every doctrine that is taught in the LDS church, not because it was proven to me but because God has testified in my mind and my heart of its truthfulness. Being a Mormon blesses my life everyday. It gives me purpose, direction, and peace.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a daily, if not minute by minute, life process. It doesn't just happen at church on Sunday or during my daily scripture study. I live my faith as I strive to be kind and loving, to be honest and true, to be obedient and humble and become more like my Savior. I live my faith as I strive to stand as witness of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places. In the church I serve as the leader of the women's organization. Our goal is to help all the women come closer to the Savior and gain a stronger testimony, strengthen their family and home, and give help to those in need.
