Hi I'm Peter

I was born in England and lived there until 1987. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, a dad to four grown up children and a grandfather to a boy and a girl in England and two girls in the United States. I am still working in my own small business but am beginning to slow down a little and am looking forward to perhaps working part time. I have a life long interest in motor cycles and motor cycle racing. I hope to be able to obtain a motorcycle so that I can ride and meet others during my retirement.

Why I am a Mormon

Life's experiences taught me during my thirties that there is more to life than just this physical universe that we live in. I began my search and visited many many different churches in many denominations. I felt that most of them had something to offer me and I met many really good people. However there was something missing and I could not put my finger on what it was. In 1994 I was approached by Mormon missionaries who, to my surprise, told me that they would like to talk to me about Jesus Christ. I had no idea that Mormons were Christians ! Many of the things that they spoke of were not new to me but these young men spoke with confidence and authority and when they introduced me to new concepts I was able to open my mind to them. My family and I decided to take up their suggestion to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it to confirm it's truthfulness. As a result all five of us were baptized and confirmed as members of the church on August 6th 1994.

How I live my faith

It is important to me to attend church every week when possible as I have found through experience that I have a tendency to drift away from the gospel when left to my own devices. I begin to drift back to my old ways of thinking that I am the center of the universe and all the problems that pride and a self centered approach to life brings. I have learned that Heavenly Father actually hears our prayers and answers most of them if only we will listen. I have learned that the Gospel is a Gospel of action and try to help others and do whatever I am asked to do by church leaders. I teach a lesson once per month and spend 4-5 hours preparing this. I do this prayerfully and I know I am helped by Him who I pray to in this endeavor. How awesome is that, to be doing a job in conjunction with Heavenly Father !!
