Hi I'm Gareth

I'm a Gamer, I'm a nerd, I'm a Husband, I'm a Father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father to 3 beautiful children and Husband to a wonderful wife. I am an avid gamer of games, pen and paper, video and computer. I was in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years serving as an infantry Machine gunner, where I was injured sending me back to my home town. I am currently going to college to get my degree with computers, you can easily call me a nerd and proud of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I first started to go to church to help my wife who was a reactivated member with the kids, I made friends with the Elder's Quorum President and the Ward Mission Leader and still are friends. I took the discussions once before then and didn't like the missionaries. The current ones were leaving and I told the war mission leader it was a shame as they were great guys. No sooner was i sitting in my living room taking the discussions. It was a simple matter of reading, praying and feeling the spirit and I was baptized a few weeks later. Why am I a Mormon? Because I know it to be true, I know the President of the Church today is a real live Prophet of God, that Joseph Smith spoke to God and Jesus and translated the book of Mormon, I know the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ and I know Jesus Died so we can be resurrected and live with Heavenly father. I know all these things to be infallibly true, as the Holy Spirit has born witness to me. I think that I was only injured so I would leave the USMC to go home and to go to church only because i was too stubborn to listen to the spirit whispering to me, in my mind that was the only way to get my attention.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith with my beautiful family, we say Evening prayer together every night and try to live by the doctrine set forth by the scriptures. One day at a time. I don't drink, smoke or partake of anything that can harm my body. I did these things before I was a Mormon but now it has more meaning. I try to say my nightly prayers and prayer with my wife but it is hard and we make mistakes, and we can ask for forgiveness and repent of our sins as we take the sacrament every Sunday. I live my faith one day at a time, one week at a time. Sunday to Sunday.
