Hi I'm Spencer

I love guitar, love the stars, and love my family. I'm spending two years on a mission in New York. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love love loooove music! I play guitar, ukulele, and try to play piano. I also enjoy meeting new people and getting to know what their story is. Being a missionary in New York, I have really seen how wonderful the different cultures of the world really are. I would really enjoy traveling the world one day, just so I could experience the cultures that I have learned so much about. Though presently I dont know what I aspire to become career-wise, I know that I want to be able to spend as much time strengthening the church where I am. Hopefully my future job will allow me to do that. I have a wonderful family that I love so very much. They are my life support in tought times.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I am a mormon because it makes me so happy! Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ I have an abiding hope in the opportunity to live with my family even after death. The principles of the gospel teach me how to be a more loving, charitable person. I know that even though each and every one of us will have struggles and we all get down sometimes, we can all rely on the Savior to lift and support us. Really, being a mormon doesn't just mean being part of a religion. To me it is a lifelong commitment to serve and love just as Jesus did. And that is truly what provides the ultimate happiness.

How I live my faith

Well, currently being a missionary for my church makes it really easy to live what I believe on a day to day basis. I get to witness life changing conversions in a lot of people. Though the schedule at times may seem rigorous, I know that this opportunity to serve the Lord is the best thing I can be doing in my life at this time. I've experienced such growth within myself as I have really strived to apply what I learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Spencer
The purpose of tithing is to construct the kingdom of God here on the earth. So the ten percent of money from members goes toward building temples and churches, helping fund the worldwide missionary program and other essentials of the church. I know that tithing is a very special blessing from the Lord and it helps me remember that happiness doesn't come from material objects, but from obedience to our Heavenly Father Show more Show less
