Hi I'm Emily

I was raised in Utah, but am now an Alaskan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, a sister, and an aunt. I find joy in serving others in various capacities.

Why I am a Mormon

I will begin by letting you know that even though I grew up in the church, I still had to be converted and to make the choice that this is what I believe in and wanted. Making this choice has also enabled me to know that God lives. There is one, Jesus Christ, who understands perfectly what I, what you, experience-the situation, the feelings, and the desires of the heart. I love the words from Alma, a Book of Mormon prophet, which were given about 83 years before Christ was born, and who testified of His coming (Alma 7:11-12): “And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.” Because He came to earth, experienced mortality, went through the Atonement, and rose from the grave for each one of us individually, He knows us better than any one on earth could. Through many different, varied, and sacred experiences, I have come to know this to be true. I have come to know personally that God, our Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ live. I know of these truths through the power and witness of the Holy Ghost which has testified to my heart, mind, and soul, and I cannot deny it. I continue to follow His gospel, because I know it is true. I know Joseph Smith was the prophet God called to restore the Church of Jesus Christ here on earth; the church Jesus Christ established when He was here on earth. I know that through the gift of power of God, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a living prophet here on earth who leads and guides us. I know God lives.

How I live my faith

I pray and study the scriptures daily. As a visiting teacher, I go and visit with women in my ward. I am involved with the youth, and am learning to play the organ. I attend the temple regularly.
