Hi I'm Cheryl

I'm a Mormon. I am a senior citizen who loves family history, family life and gardening.

About Me

For me, I am a country senior gal who loves veggie and herbal gardening both culinary and medicinal. I am also an addict to family history and volunteer as a family history consultant once a week. My family lines of interest are English, Swedish, American Colonial, and Northern Italy. Before I retired, I was a computer programmer for 35 years and that was before Microsoft days!! and now being retired and married to a real horseman, I am learning about these wonderful athletic horses. We live in a rural area with farms, ranches, and dairies and love the families of the area. My husband and I have 5 children and 17 grandchildren my step children and grandchildren--yea! and they all love horses and some of them train and sell horses so I have a lot to learn. My philosophy is "life is a high adventure".

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior and all that He has done for me. His plan of happiness rings so true and teaches me that families are forever as I strive to be Christ-like. The Mormon church teaches me the purpose of life--where I came from, why am here and where I am going. I know that my Savior loves me and is involved in my life and I strive to be obedient to all his promptings.

How I live my faith

Prayer is sooo important in my life for I know I can kneel and converse to my Heavenly Father and rejoice before him and also bring my burdens and the burdens of other to Him. I am so grateful to my Savior for his great atonement, and that he lives and that he loves me and everyone so much and is so involved in our lives in very specific ways. I love family history and so enjoy searching for information on our family lines. At this time I am working on my husband's line and his children's Italian heritage and it is a great journey. I also love choral music and am part the choir of the congregation I am a member of. Uplifting music always raises my spirit and I love being involve in it besides listening to it.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Two great principles that Jesus Christ taught is unconditional love and agency. My love for my husband has grown so much by practicing this unconditional love and not judging what he does but being accepting what he does and not saying anything that would curtail his choices. As a result of striving to live this principle, he has told me so many times how he appreciated feeling free to be himself and not having to measure anything he does and to be judged. Because of this he strives to be a good and loving husband to me and is motivated to reach for goals that he has and we mutually have together. We love being together, talking together and keeping that spark of love that is so binding in our relationship. Show more Show less
