Hi I'm Sarah
I'm a Mormon and I love this life.
I am a stay at home mom. I love being a home maker and feel like I have a strong sence of what it means to be a wife and mother. I have recently learned the art of canning and have dedicated myself to having a year supply of food for my family. I love this life. I believe that happiness is a choice and that once we learn who we are and decide what it is we want- no one can stop us from being happy and experiencing the joy we are meant to experience in this life. I believe in being accountable for the choices we make. I believe that our mistakes in life are meant to be learned from. I love beautiful art. I love how art and good lighting can bring a certain reverence into any room. I am partners with my husband in making Jesus Christ the center of our home and our lives. Our committment to Him determines every choice and decision we make. My name is Sarah and I am a Mormon.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I was raised in The Church, but there came a time when I could no longer "ride" on my parents testimony. It took a little time for me to decide what it was that I wanted out of life- and when I came to that crossroads- I decided that I wanted to know the mind and will of the Lord concerning me, and concerning the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I remembered other's testimony's (including my parents) who said that they KNEW the church was true. I wanted to know. I chose to "buckle-down" and give it everything I had to obtain with a sure knowledge whether or not the church is true. I read the Book of Mormon and I was given the knowledge by the power of the Holy Ghost. I can say without any reservation that I know that this really is The Church of Jesus Christ; that Joseph Smith really was the Prophet of the Resteration and that he translated the golden plates to give us what we know today as the Book of Mormon; that we have a living profit; that my Heavenly Father loves me; that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He attoned for the sins of those who will turn to Him; that the Plan of Salvation is perfect; and that Satan and his wicked power and influence is very real.
How I live my faith
My husband and I are dedicated to having personal and family scripture study every day. On Monday nights we hold Family Home Evening where we learn and discuss things of a spititual and faith promoting nature. We attend church each Sunday to partake of the Sacrament. Once a month we attend the temple and I also visit a few sisters that I have been assigned to visit with a partner. We attend to the needs of the women we visit and in the process make great friends. On every wall in our home is a picture of the Savior, the temple, or the Prophet. We do these things because we are committed to the Lord and are driven from within to be faithful, obiedient, and to serve. I am a volenteer in the community. In my heart, and in the back of my mind I am always looking for someone to share the gospel with, for someone to help, and for someone who has a burden that needs lifting. I choose to live and keep the commandments of the Lord because I love Him. I choose to be obiedient to His teachings. I refrain from certain things because I love the Lord. I try everyday to turn my back on the world and turn to face the Savior more fully. I do everything that I can to stay as close to the Lord as I can. Some of the tools that I use or implement in my life to do this are personal prayer, fasting, ofcourse scripture study, keeping myself clean, and keeping the commandments. It is because of my faith that I choose to refrain from certain things. These are some of the ways that I live my faith.
