Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a chocolate scientist, an artist, and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I create chocolate candies for the holidays as a product developer. My background in food science and love of contemporary art & design keeps me constantly exploring and learning. I never felt complete until I found my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. They have helped me find real happiness in prayer, scriptures, and loving my family. I love biking, and taking walks to the library and farmer's market with my wife and daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I feel at my best when I'm studying the scriptures, pray to my Heavenly Father, and strive to strengthen those around me. Growing up, I wanted to be the best husband/ father possible. I was skeptical of religion and wary of profiteering evangelist. I wanted a pure relationship with God and found what I was passively searching for when a friend asked if I wanted to learn about Mormonism. I have found peace and the guidance to be a great husband and father, and the personally fulfilling relationship with God.

How I live my faith

I strive daily to talk with my Heavenly Father and study my scriptures. Once a week my wife and I lead a den of cub scouts even though we have a daughter. I love the opportunity to learn new hobbies and skills to share with the boys the following weeks. I do my best to keep an eye out for two other families in our town as one of their "home teachers"; to lend a hand or drop off dinner when needed. My wife and I attend church together each week, and study the words of the prophets to strengthen our marriage.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Brandon
Good food is a wonderful opportunity to explore so many unique flavors. God cares what I would put into my body with the same care have for my daughter's food. The Church's law of health and proper diet means I'm encouraged to enjoy fresh produce among other things, and a healthy amount of sleep and exercise. This guidance from God through the Prophet Joseph Smith also includes not drinking alcohol, tea, and coffee. I can be a good role model for healthy eating habits to my daughter, and never a double standard for what I eat and drink personally. Show more Show less
