Hi I'm Jeff

I play the clarinet, my occupation is Plant Controller and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 29-yr-old Accounting Manager living in the Mid-West, USA. I just became a first-time dad, but already love to be around children. I am quiet & introverted. I like animals, enjoy working with numbers and I love my wife. On most social issues I am very conservative, but when it comes to the environment and the financial well-being of the country, I am a Democrat.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into the Church and have seen my faith grow and have seen my life blessed in so many ways because of it. I also believe that Families can be together forever and love this concept. I feel that I am more than flesh and bone, but spiritual matter as well. This is because I am a child of God. I have seen God work so many miracles in my life and the lives of those around me. One time I was driving to work as I had done 100 times before, but this time was different. As I came toward the top of a hill on a 2-way highway, I got a strong feeling that I should pull over to the side of the road. I followed this feeling and pulled over to the right side of the road and started driving slowly on the shoulder. As I came to the top of the hill I realized what I could not see coming from the other side of the hill; a car passing another car in my lane and would have hit me head-on if I had not pulled over. One time, as a missionary for the LDS Church, my companion lost his car keys. I had my set so I drove to our destination an hour away including a freeway drive. When we got there, we realized that my companion had left his keys on top of the car. They were still there as one key had gotten stuck in the small crevasse between the roof and the top of the car door. God wanted His work to prevail. One time I went to meeting at some missionaries' apartment block. I was a missionary too. Someone had taken the usual parking space of missionaries but they parked elsewhere. During the meeting a storm came. A tree was uprooted and came down right on top of the car that was parked in the missionaries' usual spot. Their car was fine. Some people might say these are coincidences and just part of life but I believe that God's hand is in all things.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a quiet example and refraining from using foul language, drinking alcohol, or talk bad about others. I read the Scriptures and pray each day to help my own spiritual growth.

What is faith?

Jeff
Having faith is a necessary part of the life of a Mormon. Without Faith, nobody can believe in God, Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon. These are things that very few people have cold hard proof of their existence. People will always have questions in their mind about whether something relating to religion is true or false. This is when faith comes in because sometimes there is not now nor ever will be 100% hard evidence of something's existence. If we do receive a sure knowledge that God exists, it would only be after we have unwavering faith in the first place. Show more Show less
